Rio Carnival is a wild 5-day celebration. Carnival with all its excesses, celebrated as a profane event, could be interpreted an act of farewell to the pleasures of the flesh. It is usually in February, the hottest month in the Southern Hemisphere, when summer in Rio is at its peak.

News Years Copacabana
New years at Copacabana Beach is considered the second biggest new years party in the world! A million people dressed in white gather at the beach and then closing in on midnight the crowd only gets bigger , atmosphere builds up and then it starts: Several barges loaded with massive fireworks go off at the same time giving the most amazing and biggest firework display ever seen from the water!
Copacabana beach also has lots of massive stage shows with world famous artists and Djs making it the biggest and wildest beach party in the world! Amongst the greatest, Dj David Guetta, new years 2012 and Rolling Stones, new years 2006.

The games will take place from 5 to 21 August 2016 and more than 10,500 athletes from 206 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) will take part in this sporting event. The games will feature 28 sports .These sporting events will take place across 33 venues spread across four regions of the city namely – Barra, Copacabana,Deodoro, and Maracanã.
